EI says long E
EI can say the long E sound “ee”, often after C, like in 'ceiling' and 'receive'.
How this rule works
EI says long E “ee” in the 'i before e except after c' set: ceiling, receive, deceive, conceive, seize. (EI says long A “ay” in vein, rein, eight.)
Remember: I before E, except after C — ceiling, receive!
